The votes keep rolling in, and this is gearing up to be a tight race. The clock is ticking, and time is running out. But there is still time to vote for your favorite app in the Mobile Apps Showdown. If you haven’t voted yet, head over to the Mobile Apps Showdown Ballot Box page and cast your vote. Votes, really — you get 25 votes to distribute as you see fit. All on one, or spread around, you be the judge.
So how are our contestants doing? This has all the earmarks of a two-party race. Currently, DateCheck is in the lead, showing us that people are leery of potential partners — they want all the cards on the table before the first date. But the race is tight. A mere 6,400 votes behind is another contender, Gwabbit, which helps you turn BlackBerry emails into Outlook contacts.
Can Gwabbit gwab the title, or will DateCheck body-check Gwabbit and take the prize? And lets not rule out an upset from another competitor. For example, the next nearest contender is ShopSavvy, which lets you comparison shop by scanning a barcode using your iPhone — pretty thrifty. Although it’s in third place and nearly 40,000 votes behind, that doesn’t mean it can’t catch up, if enough savvy shoppers vote for it.
And that’s where you come in. Don’t sit idly by; make your voice heard. Go to the Mobile Apps Showdown Ballot Box page and vote for your favorite or favorites. Voting will end at midnight Friday, so time is limited. And if you’re at CES, don’t forget to attend the live Mobile Apps Showdown Competition at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 9, in Room N255-257 of the Convention Center’s North Hall.
