The rules are simple and staightforward

 

jazzing the crowd1. You must submit your applications before Nov. 31, 2010.

 

2. Your application must be available to the public now or delivered by Q2 of 2011.

 

3. Semi-finalists (25) and finalists (10) are selected from among all entrants by a panel of journalists and experts from the Netshelter Technology Media network.

 

4. Semi-finalists and finalists will participate in an online vote, which will affect, but not necessarily determine, the winners. (Judges will have the final word and the votes need to checked for duplicates.)

 

5. Only finalists - 10 in all - will present at the Mobile Apps Showdown live event at the 2010 Consumer Electronic Show. The winner of the live event will be selected by the live audience.

 

 

Entry makes you eligible for several awards:

a. One for each of five platform categories: Android, Blackberry, iPhone, Nokia, and Palm’s Web OS

b. One for the winner of the best application in the online vote.

c. One for the winner of the live vote at the Mobile Apps Showdown at CES 2011 (www.cesweb.org)

 

 

Entry fee is $800 before June 15th and entitles entrant to:

 

1. Consideration for finalist status

 

2. A write up on the Mobile Apps Showdown website

 

3. Posting of a screen image or a pre-produced video demo on the Mobile Apps Showdown webpage

 

4. A link to ‘Download or Buy This App’ on the Mobile Apps Showdown webpage

 

5. A link to the app on the Living in Digital Times/Mobile Apps Showdown flash drive, distributed to members of the press at CES

 

6. Semi-finalists will have the opportunity to post a video clip of their application on the Mobile Apps Showdown website.

 

Products must address the mobile environment. In addition, Living in Digital Times will produce a separate video promoting the Top 10 entries. Hardware, software and/or services can be demonstrated along with the app. Live demos can include video, live walk-throughs, or slide shows.
