Developer’s Description: BeSeen is a game from Web Wise Kids and Carnegie Mellon to teach youth how to be responsible in social networks by securing their private and personal information, protecting their online reputation and defending their peers. This online safety mobile application is a single-player game that simulates a social networking website. The player creates a profile and starts earning “friend” characters and interacting with them. They learn about others through their posts and help them through challenges in order to win awards and make new friends.

In BeSeen, the ultimate quest is to make friends. At first, that is a matter of getting involved in school activities, but as more friends join a social circle, they bring their problems with them. To keep friends and make more, it’s important not only to be involved but to be a good friend. Who is up for the challenge?

The Mobile Apps Showdown is a fast-paced contest where you're asked to weigh in on the apps you think have what it takes to make it. For the months leading up to the 2013 CES, we'll be presenting the contestants to you. You can try the apps, watch demos, make your feelings known, and ultimately vote on a winner. We're platform agnostic, so if it's mobile, it's in the competition.

The top ten apps will join us at 2014 CES for an action packed event hosted by Jon Hein and Gary Dell'Abate from the Howard Stern Wrap Up Show.

Robin Raskin, creator of the Mobile Apps Showdown, will be there to emcee events.

By the end of this year, nearly 50 billion apps will have been downloaded. Only you know which ones are the keepers.
