Developer’s Description: Texting while driving is already illegal in 38 states, but enforcing that law is tough. And texting while driving has quickly become one of the major causes of serious car accidents.

Drive Safe is an easy to use application which solves the problem of distracted driving by automatically shutting down the keypad and screen on your phone as soon as it senses that you’re accelerating, aka driving. The temptation to read or compose a text is eliminated because your screen is blank and keypad frozen.

According to PhoneGuard, the company, teens are four times more likely to crash while texting, rather than driving drunk. An added benefit of the app is that parents can set limits like “no texting late at night” and you can also get reports on how fast they’re driving too.
