IDEAL Magnifier is a high-quality, free, open source video magnification application for Android Froyo(Android’s browser) smartdevices. Color filter options include mono, negative, sepia, posterize, whiteboard, blackboard, and aqua. Magnification is in real-time. Controls include volume up and down as well as zooming in and out. Pressing a button brightens your LED lighting. Tapping on the screen provides automatic refocusing. Students at Ohio State School for the Blind consider this application more robust and flexible than $1,800 dedicated hand-held magnification devices selling for $750-$1,000. Apps does not works on Samsung GlalaxyS. It backs out the screen.
