Developer’s Description: The search for a better TV Guide is sort of like the search for the Holy Grail. But what if your TV Guide was your TV shrink, too? What if it could understand something about what you liked to watch?

Peel transforms an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into a beautiful television program guide that learns about a users’ entertainment tastes and suggests programming they’ll like. It starts with a simple setup interview. Afterward, Peel welcomes the user to a window suggesting top show picks based on preferences discovered in the interview. Tapping a show tile reveals the Show Card, which contains title art, casting details, and an episode synopsis, as well as the time and channel on which the show appears. The Show Card further offers the ability to ‘favorite’ or ‘hide’ the show, tailoring individual preferences even further. And of course you can share your faves with friends via Facebook and Twitter.

Taking the Peel experience further, the company announced new control hardware that transforms this friendly guide into a universal remote control. With Peel, show discovery and access is simple and fun, and watching TV is made friendlier. Just watch out if you share the program with a spouse or friend with different tastes. Who knows what happens when BBC News meets Family Guy?
