Developer’s Description: Squeezing the mighty Microsoft Office Suite into smartphone size is like stuffing Rosie O’Donnell into a size two dress. Yet, despite rumors to the contrary, a majority of us find Microsoft Office at the core of our business and personal existence.

Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite is the first full-featured productivity suite for mobile devices. It lets you view and edit Microsoft Office documents, as well as provides integrated access to multiple remote storage providers. It has a friendly and intuitive user interface, robust formatting and editing features, and seamless integration with multiple cloud storage providers Box.net, Dropbox, Google Docs and MobileMe. As more consumers continue to use mobile cloud services, Quickoffice provides the critical link, enabling these services when users need and want them most: when they are viewing and editing Microsoft Office documents. Users can view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, including Office 1997-2008 file formats. They can also view headers and footers, search for text, follow hyperlinks, find phone numbers and email addresses within documents. The app also supports landscape editing. Installed on over 250 million devices in over 180 countries, Quickoffice is the world leader in mobile office applications. . Hopefully it’ll be available for Microsoft Mobile phones soon, too!

Pro: Integrates seamlessly with all major remote document solutions (Google Docs, Dropbox, Mobile Me, etc), great performance.

Con: Pricey. Doesn’t allow you to create PowerPoint presentations (only view them).

Why it’s a Finalist: If you’re serious about viewing and editing Microsoft Office files on the go and/or accessing documents stored in the cloud, Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite is an app you need.
