Developer’s Description: Studies show that up to 25% of all fatal car crashes involve a tired driver. And we all know that scary feeling of having to prop your eyelids open or smack yourself in the face to keep awake on the road.
Anti Sleep Pilot® App helps drivers prevent accidents, caused by drowsy driving. The application builds on the Anti Sleep Pilot® gadget, which took four years to develop and is based on the same sleep science, algorithm and user interface.
During a drive, Anti Sleep Pilot® App continuously calculates how tired you are, maintains your alertness and recommends a preventive break before your fatigue level becomes dangerous. The app adapts to your individual risk profile, your fatigue status before the drive and the driving situation. Motion is automatically detected by means of GPS and accelerometer. It furthermore presents you with valuable statistics of current and historical trips.
Throughout the course of 2011 a wide range of new features will enhance the comfort and safety of your future trips. It is one of the first safety related apps in the world - with a potential to make a societal impact worldwide!

I took a good look at the screen shots with our judges today. It was pointed out that there's a lot of information in this app. My personal worry … i'd fall asleep trying to interpert it.
Others thought you might be overly distracted trying to figure out how tired you were.
Anyone have hands on experinece to share?
We completely understand your concern with regards to distracting drivers, but believe we have addressed this in the application concept. The driver should only use one screen – the Main Driving Screen – during drive. The other screens are extra information and features that the user can check during breaks and before/after a trip. On the Main Driving Screen the primary piece of information is the fatigue level as it rises during the drive (presented as a column of bars in the left area of the screen). The other pieces of information are secondary: driver name, fatigue status before drive (the eye), driving status and break recommendations. 30 minutes before a break is recommended a count-down will start in the top right corner. We have conducted multiple tests and haven't had feedback with regards too information overload. Quite contrary several users have expressed that the Anti Sleep Pilot has helped them stay more focused and alert while driving.PeterAnti Sleep Pilot
