Who would have predicted the tsunami of mobile apps that we’ve seen released in the last year? I like to joke that I now have so many apps that my most used app is “Task Killer” to put the kibosh on apps that use too many resources.
The contestants have started submitting their nominations. The links to try, buy, and preview are all on the site. This year’s contenders include everything from apps for tracking flights to tracking pounds, from turning your mobile phone into 2 lines to turning your mobile phone into a geo-based experience.
We also have our field of professional judges, and they are:
- Dieter Bohn, editor-in-chief, SmartphoneExperts
- Jason Dunn, executive editor, Windows Phone Thoughts
- Jeff Estep, moderator/blogger, SprintUsers
- Pressian Karakostov, president, phoneArena
- Rob Jackson, editor, Phandroid
- Brandon Miniman, editor-in-chief, Pocketnow
- Will Park, editor-in-chief, IntoMobile
- Evan Selleck, editor-in-chief, Android Community
- Simon Walker, owner, AndroidSPIN
- Antonio Wells, editor-in-chief, Android Tapp
- Taylor Wimberly, co-founder, Android and Me
It’s only fitting that our second annual Mobile Apps Showdown asks you and our intrepid NetShelter judges to winnow down the best from the rest.
Take a look at the reviews and share your thoughts. Let us know your favorites, too. We want to separate this year’s app extraordinaire from just another app to be killed from your list.
We’ve also have our field of professional judges
Let the showdown begin.
