Developer’s Description: Millions of Americans share two common money issues: 1) app overload; and 2) fragmented finances. Personal Capital solves both problems by intergrating high tech and personalized expert advice into an all-in-one solution to manage and grow your money — right from your phone, anywhere, anytime. The iPhone app is a one-stop destination to “view” and “do” anything related to your finances, without having to keep track of all your accounts and transactions at multiple institutions. The app includes a Universal Checkbook feature that enables you to transfer funds between accounts and send money to payees with the click of a button, for free. You can have a check to your landlord in the mail in a matter of minutes, or maybe your checking account at Bank of America is running a bit too close to empty, so you quickly transfer money from another account to cover the difference. It only takes a few seconds and it’s FREE.

JUDGE’S REMARKS
Personal Capital is an wealth management firm created by former Paypal executive, Bill Harris . It’s pretty impressive with built in support for more than 10,000 financial institutions, and provides a quick scan of your net worth. A separate dashboard lets you track monthly spending and another gives you a quick picture of asset allocations.
Pros: Easy to setup and it’s secure. You can deactivate everything remotely if you lose your device. You can track your assets in real time and of course you can chat face to face with your Personal Capital manager. The app is free.
Cons: While the rest of us will certainly benefit from the app the real benefit comes as a fantastic tool if you’re a Personal Capital client.
