A straightforward application that makes creating scripted ringtones simple… sounds like a great idea. Offering dozens of voices that read a customized script, Ringtone Director then issues the audio file to a private page at www.autoringtone.com. Available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Samsung Bada and Mac OS X operating systems makes it one of the most platform-agnostic applications that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, due to iOS limitations on communication between applications, iPhone users must download ringtones on the synchronized computer and load the files into iTunes. Hits: Ringtone Director features an attractive interface, simple to use with minimal learning curve. Ringtone Director is available for five different operating systems, including Mac OS X. Misses: Pricing varies :$6.99 on iOS, 99¢ for both Android and Windows Phone and $9.99 for OS X). The iOS version requires use of iTunes on the synchronized computer.
