JUDGE’S REMARKS
Path takes social networking to the next level. Its goal is keep you up to date on what your 50 closest friends are up to. Unlike other social networks that focus on one form of update, i.e. photos. Path allows to update a vast variety of different events. You can update your friends with the music you are listening to, a thought you might have, a picture, video, you can even tell people when you wake up or go to bed. Where Path really shines is in its integration with other social networks. Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter and Tumblr are all supported. For a user that has accounts on almost all the major platforms, Path is one stop posting. You can open the app, check into Fourquare, add a short message and send the post to all of your networks in a few short taps. This makes for a very happy mobile user.
Path is also ahead of the curve on it’s design and UI. You may even notice familiar elements like a timeline complete with a cover and profile picture, seem familiar? Path did it first. It also has an innovative posting system and is fun and easy to use.
Pros: Beautiful UI, with flowing animations. Great design for touch devices. Ability to send updates to multiple networks with one click.
Cons: No web posting, only accessible via mobile apps. Limit of 50 friends. Privacy issues if not fully configured. The app automatically sends your location by default.
