Developer’s description: Amway Global Independent Business Owners (IBOs) have an app for conducting business “on the go.” The Amway Global app allows its distributors to research product information, place orders, register new customers, and check sales status for their Point Values and Bonus Values. With this app, IBOs can conduct business and order products (including branded products like NUTRILIE® vitamins, minerals & supplements, ARTISTRY® cosmetics and LEGACY OF CLEANTM home care products) quickly and easily.

Pros: The Amway Global iPhone represents one of a growing number of corporate apps finding their way onto the iPhone platform. User reviews, presumably from Amway’s direct sellers and marketers, are solidly favorable.

Cons: This app is only for those who sell Amway products.

About Mobile Apps Showdown

Our Host: Robin Raskin
...is a veteran tech journalist and founder of Living in Digital Times. She created the Showdown.

How it works:

Mobile phone apps from any platform can enter. Our experts narrow the field to a Top 20 and then Top 10. We conduct an online vote to determine a 'people's' winner. All 20 semifinalists are invited to demonstrate their apps at the Mobile Apps Showdown stage in the North Hall during CES. The Top 10 appear before a live voting audience at CES to determine an event winner.

When: Saturday, 12:30 p.m., Jan. 9, 2010

Where: Room N255-257, LVCC, North Hall, 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
