Joining Facebook? Burning a DVD? Defragging? Mr. NVS focuses on the task at hand, allowing for instant gratification. Customers purchase the app one time and receive all future videos free of charge.

Pros: Videos are to the point and easy to understand.

Cons: Not sure why you’d need this as a mobile application since most tasks would be more easily done at your PC. Some of the tutorials are product specific.

How it works:

Mobile phone apps from any platform can enter. Our experts narrow the field to a Top 20 and then Top 10. We conduct an online vote to determine a 'people's' winner. All 20 semifinalists are invited to demonstrate their apps at the Mobile Apps Showdown stage in the North Hall during CES. The Top 10 appear before a live voting audience at CES to determine an event winner.

When: Saturday, 12:30 p.m., Jan. 9, 2010

Where: Room N255-257, LVCC, North Hall, 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
